Our rigorous 9-stage recruitment process, provides an end to end service from profiling to placement as outlined below.
Requirements – Our aim is to build a relationship with all of our clients to the point where we fully understand the needs and requirements of their business. This includes an appreciation of the culture of the organisation and the expectations from the new appointment, usually best achieved by a site visit and detailed discussion.
Advertising – In addition to our website, we have subscriptions to specialist and general online job boards where we advertise our current roles. Our consultants are trained to write advertisements in order to make them as effective as possible.
Resourcing - CV databases give us access to a large pool of candidates who we actively approach, as well as utilising our own 25,000 strong database, which we continuously update.
CV Screening – We handle the response to all applications through the initial screening of CV’s, responding in a timely manner to all unsuccessful candidates.
Initial Interview – Candidates that meet the vacancy criteria are subject to an initial telephone interview to gage interest and establish suitability.
Second Interview – If a successful telephone interview has been conducted, candidates are invited into our offices to undertake a formal face-to-face interview with a Merit consultant (for senior positions this is likely to involve a 2nd interview with a Business Manager). These are conducted in private interview rooms and we offer these facilities to our clients, together with interview training and assistance.
Referencing – Prior to the introduction of candidates we will apply for references from previous employers.
Introduction – At the end of this process we provide clients with a short-list of suitable CV’s and a written profile, outlining abilities and highlighting key information as an aid to your selection process.
Preparation - All candidates will be fully briefed prior to attending an interview, ensuring that they have a solid understanding of the position, your core business and your company.
Boutique Approach – We operate a client driven service with the understanding that finding team members is not solely based on an objective interpretation of CV’s. We only send a short-list of quality candidates for your consideration, putting together bespoke assessment packages on request, including personality profiling and ability testing.
No Placement No Fee – You pay nothing unless we place a candidate, and then our competitive introductory fees are transparent and negotiable, based on a percentage of the candidates’ first year salary. Our confidence in our ability allows us to offer a rebate structure for all our placements if the candidate leaves within the first 3 months.
Reputation and Referral - We have an established reputation of placing, sourcing and career managing, with many individuals who register with Merit having been referred to us by previous candidates.
Confidentiality – We appreciate that in certain instances the vacancy at hand may be sensitive in nature and as such we treat non-disclosure with substantial consideration, not divulging companies’ details until applicants are selected for interview.
Headhunting - Our clients and our experiences have shown that specialist roles are most effectively filled by headhunting. With extensive research we identify suitable applicants within a given sector to contact directly, informing them of the available opportunity.
